The following terms and conditions of service (" Terms and conditions ") govern users usage of the Site as well as the Services (as defined below) it offers, and are occasionally updated by the JBG. We recommend that you closely read the Terms and Conditions before using the Site or Services. You may consult the latest version of the Terms and conditions at any time, by visiting jbg.org.ec/en/terms. A user’s choice to use the Site or Services constitutes their acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and indicates that they are over 18 years of age or that they have the permission of a parent or guardian. This is a mandatory agreement. If you do not accept the Terms and Conditions, you shall not use the Site or Services. b) SERVICESThe Site also offers users the option of commenting on the articles published.
Users may send questions to each JBG office, by filling out a contact form.
Users may subscribe to our bulletins and choose whether they would like to receive emails regarding job opportunities, events, news, and who is in need of help. This information is stored in a database administered by the JBG.
The Site also allows you to make donations to the Ecuadorians most in need, granting them an operation or any other medical service offered at the JBG. We accept donations using PayPal, a secure system that accepts donations made with credit cards. It is also possible to make a donation through a bank transfer, using the JBG donations checking account number that is published.
In the Terms and Conditions, the term " Services " is used to refer to all the information, databases and other services provided by the Site, or those that can be accessed through the Site. c) USE OF SERVICESTo use the Site and Services, you need access to the World Wide Web. The user must pay all the costs associated with said Internet access and services. The user will also need a computer and a modem or alternate access.
d) SERVICES OFFERED
By using the Services, the user assumes the risks associated with their use. Please be informed that the user hereby agrees to hold harmless the JBG against all complaints, lawsuits and damages (direct or indirect) of all kinds and nature, known and unknown, suspected or unsuspected, revealed or not revealed, that occur as a result of, or that are related to, a specific dispute, or to the use of services. Likewise, the user agrees to use the Services solely for legal purposes. The user assumes all responsibility and risks associated with the use of the Services. The user is the only party responsible for evaluating the accuracy, integrity, and utility of all the information accessed or obtained through the Services and content. We reserve the right, based on our discretion, to change, modify, add or erase comments made on the Site.
Subscribing to our bulletins is totally voluntary and free of charge. By subscribing, you may update your preferences at a later date. If you decide you no longer wish to receive our electronic communications, you are free to cancel your subscription at any time.
When you send a donation, it will be processed and sent to the project you wish to support. Your personal and credit card information are protected by PayPal’s encryption system. Once the beneficiary receives the donation, you will be notified with a thank-you email. e) SITE BEHAVIORThe user assumes responsibility for all Content that he/she sends by email, or by any other method, through the Site or Services. Also, the user is responsible for respecting the rights of the JBG and of third-parties, with regards to the Content that appears on the Site, and agrees to not download, send by email or transmit through any other means, Content that infringes upon the rights of JBG or third-parties. The user agrees to not use the Site or Services to: • Send by email, or transmit by any other means, any Content that infringes on any person’s or entity’s patent, registered trademark, trade secret, copyright or other intellectual property right, private or publicity right of any party or entity. • Announce, send by email or transmit by any other means any Content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, offensive, defamatory, vulgar, slanderous, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, invasive of a third-party’s privacy, ethnically or racially discriminatory or offensive for any other reason. • Assume the identity of another person or entity, including, but not limited to, a representative of the JBG or its agents, directors or employees; falsify or alter his/her affiliation with another person or entity. • Announce, send by email or transmit by any other means, any unsolicited and unauthorized advertising or publicity material, including, but not limited to, the start or continuation of sending unsolicited mass or commercial emails, or any other form of unsolicited communication that may be deemed objectionable. • Use the Site or Services for any purpose or may that may infringe upon a local, state or federal law or regulation or those of a foreign government. • Collect or store third-party personal information, except that which is set out in the Terms and Conditions, and then only for the specific purpose of providing a reasonably foreseen legal communication by said third parties. • Directly or indirectly and intentionally interrupt or interfere with the Site or Services in such a way that negatively and materially affects the JBG or a third-party. • Announce, send by email or transmit by any other means, any material containing a software virus or other code, file or program designed to disable, interrupt or limit the functioning of any compute hardware, software, equipment or telecommunications facilities. • Announce, send by email or transmit by any other means, any material containing personal or private information regarding a third-party, person or entity, including but not limited to telephone numbers, addresses, credit or debit cards, phone card numbers, account numbers, social security numbers, passwords or any similar information. • Use any type of automated tool, including but not limited to "scripts", "robots" and any other software; attempt to collect information from the Site; or access one of its servers without authorization. f) NOTIFICATION OF CHANGESThe JBG may occasionally make changes to the Terms and Conditions. If this occurs, JBG will ensure that the Site posts the updated version of the Terms and Conditions. The JBG reserves the right to add or change the Services offered or interrupt one or all of the Services at any time. The user understands and agrees that in the future the JBG may establish and revise the practices and limitations in the use of the Site and the Services. The ineffectiveness of some regulations or the fact that they are incomplete shall not affect the effectiveness of the others.
