| "I can now bring her everywhere in her wheelchair" |
Narcisa de Jesús Intriago Intriago suffers from a congenital disease that impedes her from living a normal life. She cannot speak, see nor walk. Her mother, Mireya Intriago, has cared for her for 37 years in the Isla Trinitaria neighborhood in Guayaquil, in hopes of someday being able to give her a better quality of life. In the meantime, she has had to carry her daughter on her back just to move her around. At the suggestion of a friend, Mireya went to the Fundación La Vid in search of help. She needed a wheelchair for Narcisa. As soon as they heard that Narcisa needed a wheelchair, they asked the Junta de Beneficencia for help. The JBG donated a wheelchair to Narcisa, according to Carmen Coloma, the president of Fundación La Vid. |
