Dr. Fabricio Delgado, Technical Director of the Lorenzo Ponce Psychiatric Hospital of the JBG, was named representative of the Latin American Zone IV of the World Association of Psychiatry (AMP), in Prague. It is the first time an Ecuadorian psychiatrist receives this internacional appointment.

• Promoting scientific and academic exchanges with internships and scholarships within Zone IV, made up of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
• Carrying out mental health studies
• Designing programs for high-prevalence disorders with strong social repercussions, such as drug-dependency, family violence, suicide, among others.
• Designing programs to avoid chronic patient’s deterioration.
• Promote scientific research through the creation of an annual price contest for best work.
